DEFINITION - Mancooler

The Stockbridge Airco direct driven MANCOOLER is based on the efficient long case fans types LCA. It is a low noise axial fan with the impeller mounted on the motor shaft in the air flow. Standard motor speeds, a variable impeller blade angle and number meet a wide range of operating demands up to 45,000 m3/hr.

The fan is designed with an aerofoil impeller, external terminal box , inlet and outlet guards andd riven by a 3-phase 50 Hz motor. The fan casing is mounted on a robust sheet steel frame and has an adjustable discharge angle (which is usually +/- 30o from horizontal). The mancooler is specified to provide a cool air barrier between workers and very hot radiant heat sources, such as ovens, kilns and furnaces.

DEFINITION - Portable Smoke Extract

The size 315 PSE fan was developed in association with the emergency services to remove smoke from confined spaces in firefighting incidents.  It is robust enough to withstand rough handling, can be easily hand carried and is supplied with a length of metal braided cable and a waterproof connectorto run off a 110V supply from a fire engine or portable generator..  The unit, measuring 15 ins square by 12 ins deep, is rated to exhaust up to 3000ft3/min.

An optional flexible trunking to transport the smoke away from the fan is also available in robust PVC-coated nylon and larger sizes are available for other applications needing portable air movement power such as paint and engine test bays and tank cleaning.
